SALVATION ARMY GRID BLOG

Talk is cheap.

In the final analysis once cannot live byslogans but only by a wisdom born of life experience.

Since life is complex, a simplistic gospel will soon be irrelevant.

Christians seem to be adept at sloganeering and much preaching is slick and simplistic

Reductionism unsuccessfully tries to overcome the polarities in which the Christian must live. It therefore makes the disturbing good news of the New Testament a good news that fits our cultural expectations. In doing this, it robs the gospel of power.

God sits high, looks low - reveals himself to the most learned mind and the humble servant

Take time to listen, ask questions - in listening we can more effectively discern.

First time visiting your Blog, just been flipping through then came across this one. Exactly what has been in the back of my mind yet I wasn't exactly looking for it. So very true and actually answers some of my recent questions. Thanks for the post, much appreciated.
